P.A.R.E.N.T.S.

Providing Affirmation and Resources for Embracing Non-binary, Transgender & gender expansive youthS is a support group for parents of transgender and gender-diverse children and adults. This group has no age limitation, and we encourage parents of adult trans folks as well as those with young ones to come and connect, find fellowship and support, in navigating the adjustments a parent goes through when their child comes out with a gender identity different than assigned to them at birth. In this space we validate and normalize any question you may have, including whether or not you feel you are observing a “phase” of your child’s development, and provide guidance on how to supportively grow with your child on their journey of authentic discovery and discernment process for what changes are needed to live a healthy life.

Topics include but are not limited to:

Dealing with Transphobia
Navigating a Legal Name Change
Processing feelings of Grief & Loss
Coming out to other Family Members

Puberty Blockers
Hormone Therapy & Medical Steps

All participants must pre-register as clients of Darling Mental Health; you will not be charged for this service unless you choose to voluntarily support the program.
